Doesn't This SEC Meeting Sound a Lot Like FCC Meetings Recently
The New York Times has an interesting theory about how SEC deregulation may have set the foundation for the current financial crisis. I am not sure it is true, but the video linked to the above SEC picture explains the theory and has audio from SEC deliberations. The SEC Chairman and staff explain that they can monitor the deregulated firms and catch any problems early.
Much of this sounds very familiar to those of us who have watched the FCC for the past decade.
